Box cards, incidents, and books for your agency

Site access is the MABDB record your members already expect on a call: the box card, the incident it starts, and the book that says how your agency operates. An agency administrator sets a password from the email we send, then adds a login for each member.

Box cards

Keep every alarm card for the agency in one list, and open the one you need by department.

  • Active cards, cards waiting for approval, and cards that have gone inactive.
  • Box number, location or area, alarm type, division, effective date, and the date a card goes inactive.
  • Alarm levels with the companies due in each resource column: engines, tenders, trucks, squads, EMS, chiefs, special equipment, and change of quarters.
  • First, second, and third choices for an interdivisional request, plus the notes kept on the card.
  • Export the card to Excel.
  • Begin an incident from the card. Choose the alarm level and MABDB brings in the companies due through that level.

Incidents

Start from a box card or add an incident on its own. Command stays on one screen while the alarm builds.

  • A list you can filter and sort by incident number, name, agency, alarm level, address, and city.
  • Incident numbers assigned by year as each incident is opened from a card.
  • Checklist you can check off, built from the agency’s default checklist.
  • Assignments such as Requested, plus the default assignments your agency keeps on its profile. Move a resource from one assignment to another.
  • Resources by type and agency, with a personnel count.
  • Command details: incident command, operations, safety officer, water supply, address, and notes.
  • A running log. The first entry is written when command starts, and you add events as the incident changes.
  • Export Log saves that log of incident events as a spreadsheet or a text file.

Books

Put the agency book where members can open it, search it, and follow a guideline on scene.

  • One or more books for the agency, listed by name.
  • A table of contents organized by section, with each guideline’s number and title.
  • Search across the guidelines in a book.
  • Guideline pages your agency writes and maintains.
  • A direct link to a book. The book and its guidelines open without signing in, so a station computer or a shared link can land on the right page.

Who it is for

  • MABAS member agencies.
  • An agency administrator who receives the password link and then creates logins for the rest of the agency.
  • Members who need the card, the incident, and the book. Scheduling is a separate add-on.
